We want to know what happened to him. We have been misled by the recruitment agents and brokers. We were told by his company that he fell off the ship and swept away. Rescue efforts were done but he wasn’t found. ” Shaili said.
She said the family has full trust to get help from the UAE authorities. “We want to head to Iran and be at the place where the incident has happened. He went missing 30 nautical miles away from Assaluyeeh Port, Iran. He could be at a nearby island. He may be trapped somewhere. We firmly believe that wherever he is there he is safe. He may even be in hiding.”
The family is hopeful that after the Eid holidays the authorities will swing into action to find the sailor.
