Improving connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir, the much-awaited Jammu ropeway service is all set to be opened for the general public by the end of July 2019. When started, the project aimed at providing a high-quality tourism experience with transportation facility, sightseeing and entertainment.
Being one of the dream projects of the dwellers of the region, this 1.66-km-long cable car project has two phases – first from Bahu Fort to Mahamaya Park and second from Mahamaya to Peer Kho over the Tawi river – with a total length of 1,118 metre.
Considering the interest of tourists and pilgrims who visit Vaishno Devi, Raghunath Temple and Bahu Fort, this ropeway service has been planned and it will entertain thousands of tourists and pilgrims by providing a brilliant view of the beautiful nature in the region.
As stated by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, “With the blessings of Vaishno Devi, the final trial is over and we are going to open the service for the public by the end of this month. It will boost tourism in the area.”
The stakeholders as well as the locals are expecting the project will enhance the business opportunities and employment in the area. One of the locals has worded, “The nearby attractions will also become famous as visitors will get a chance to visit there easily.”
