Nepal To Enforce fresh hiked Foreign tourist Visa Fees From 17th July

Flying to Nepal is going to be a little pricier as the country has decided to increase its visa fees for foreign tourists. Nepal’s Department of Immigration (DoI) has reported that the decision was taken in  May, 2019 and it will come into force from  17th July.The Nepal Government has come to this decision as its visa charges had not been raised for almost a decade.

However, according to the DoI officials, there is a minor change in visa fee structure and after the completion of the campaign – “Visit Nepal Year 2020”, it is going to be revised once again.

Citing that the new revised charges have nothing to do with Nepal’s tourism campaigns of 2020, DoI’s director general –  Eshor Raj Poudel said, “Change in the visa fee structure for foreign arrivals is necessary to make the fee contextual. We will rework on the visa fee structure following the completion of the Visit Nepal 2020 tourism campaign.” The country’s new hiked visa fee comes in a range between $5 and $35 for foreign arrivals.

As per the immigration department, the tourist visa fee for 15 days (multiple entry) has been raised by $5 to $30, tourist visa fee for 30 days (multiple entry) has been raised to $50 from $40 and the tourist visa fee for 90 days (multiple entry) has been raised by $35 to $125.

The Department of Immigration has also increased the visa extension fee for the foreign tourists.

It apprised of that for a valid visa, that hasn’t been expired, the extension fees has been raised from $2 to $3 per day and for the visa with multiple entry, the extension fee has been raised from additional $20 to additional $25.

And in case of the visa expiration, the late fee on its extension has been raised from $3 to $5 per day.
