To fly to the foreign countries has now becomes less time consuming for Indian citizens since the country’s Government has reduced its normal passport issuance time to 11 days and tatkal passports will be issued just within a day. The step has been taken by the Central Government of India to make foreign tours even easier for the souls on board.
The official website of Passport Seva, Consular, Passport and Visa Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, further says, Tatkal Passports, which do not require any police verification – excluding the date of submission of application – can be issued within one working day. Earlier the time limit was fixed to 30 days for issuance of new passports from the date of submitting the required documents to the Passport Seva Kendra and to obtain Tatkal passorts it used to take 1 week time.
According to India’s Passports Act 1967, its central government can issue different types of passports and travel documents such as Ordinary Passport, Official Passport, Diplomatic Passport, Emergency Certificate and Certificate of Identity for the purpose.
