The families of each of the 17 victims who were killed in the Dubai bus crash on 6th June will be paid blood money of Dh200,000, the UAE’s top court has ruled. A total of 12 Indians were killed in the horrific bus crash in Al Rashidiya.
The tourist bus full of holiday makers was returning from Oman after the Eid holidays which met an accident near Rashidiya exit on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road at 5.40pm on 6th June,Thursday evening.
The Omani bus driver, who made the accident was sentenced to 7-years in jail by the court after he was found guilty. He will be deported after serving the sentence.
The bus driver has earlier admitted of his mistake that led to the accident.
Fifteen passengers died on the spot, and the others were rushed to the hospital, according to earlier reports. Two more died later, raising the total death toll to 17.
