India and Croatia have now joined hands to boost the tourism sectors of the respective nations. Recently, during the visit of the President of India to Croatia a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed regarding this on 26 March, 2019.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Union Cabinet, has given its ex-post facto approval on the MoU between India and Croatia in the field of tourism.
This will help the two nations in creating an institutional mechanism for enhancing cooperation in the tourism sector.
There is immense potential to expand bilateral trade and investment and to establish innovation, research and start-up partnerships between two countries. President Ram Nath Kovind elaborated about it while addressing a joint forum of Croatian and Indian business associations.
He also reminded of the rich trading past when over 1,000 Croatian traders settled in Goa carring out flourishing mercantile connection between Dubrovnik and Goa in the 16th century.
The event was jointly organised by the Croatian Chamber of Economy, the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
