Under the “Bharat Darshan Tour Scheme” the Indian Railways is going to launch a special train for tourists visiting the Statue of Unity at Kevadia in Gujarat. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the tourism wing of the country’s transportation has arranged the tour and it is going to start from March 4.
The Bharat Darshan Tour package is of seven nights and eight days tour which will commence its journey from Chandigarh. The proposal is introduced five months after the world’s tallest statue was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Setting its starting point on Chandigarh, the train will cover religious sites like Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, Indore’s Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, Nashik’s Trimbakeshwar, Aurangabad’s Ghrishneshwar Jyotirlinga and Shirdi Sai Baba Darshan.
Furthermore the package is specially designed to visit Statue of Unity – the sclupture of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. Passengers will reach the site by buses from the halting point of Vadodara station. The monument is located on the river island called Sadhu Bet in front of the Narmada Dam in Gujarat. With a height of 182 metres it is now considered as the world’s tallest statue.
Additionally for the benefits of the tourists the package has several entraining and detraining stations like Chandigarh, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Delhi Cantt, Rewari, Alwar and Jaipur etc.
The tickets are priced at Rs 7560 per person by IRCTC which includes the non-AC sleeper class journey, hall/dormitory accommodation at places of night stay, morning freshen up, road transportation, pure vegetarian meals, non-AC vehicles for sightseeing, services of the tour manager and security arrangements.
