Royal Caribbean Gears Up for Perfect Day at CocoCay Launch, Reveals Updates on New Islands

Royal Caribbean is setting up for the launch of Perfect Day at CocoCay — a renovation of the line’s famous private island in the Bahamas – which is  scheduled to open in May 2019.The island is going to unveil a number of new amenities, that includes the Oasis Lagoon, the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean; Captain Jack’s Galleon, a water play area with slides, a geyser, and water cannons; and Splashaway Bay aquapark.

CoCo Cay Island (officially known as Little Stirrup Cay ) is one of Bahamas’ Berry Islands, an archipelago of small isles and cays located approx 55 ml (90 km) north of Nassau. This island is privately leased and used solely by Royal Caribbean for cruise ship tourism purposes.

Perfect Day at CocoCay is part of the line’s new Perfect Day Island Collection, which also will engage the development of destinations in Asia, Australia and elsewhere in the Caribbean, as reported by Cruise Critic in May 2018.The line is already in the process of obtaining  land for additional Perfect Day private islands, president Michael Bayley reportedly revealed this week at a Travel Weekly Executive Lunch.

Bayley added: “We have been busy acquiring land around the world and each one will have a a little different concept, depending on what each market’s idea of a perfect day is.”

A lot of of amenities  on Perfect Day at CocoCay will be free. Passengers will need to pay for extras when access to the Thrill Waterpark and cabana rentals. Royal Caribbean has also one more privately operated destination, Labadee, Haiti, but this  is not part of the Perfect Day collection.
