New York has registered a record-breaking 65.2 million foreign foot-falls in 2018, as reported by its tourist board and Britons have topped the list with a maximum number to visit the Big Apple from overseas.
As per the new figures released by NYC & Company, as compared to 2017, previous years footfall has a big hike.Around 51.6 million Americans and 13.5 million foreign tourists visited the city last year where as the figure of overseas visitors was just 13.1million in 2017.

According to Mastercard’s annual Global Destination Cities list, published in September, New York is ranked at the 6th most-visited city in the world for the foreign tourists. The ranking was based on the estimation of the year 2017. The list holds Bangkok at the top position which is followed by London, Paris, Dubai and Singapore respectively.
‘Gay Pride’ one of an important events of New York, which is going to be celebrated in the month of July 2019. This time marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, the event is being expected to draw visitors from outside the country with a good number. It represents the fight for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) rights.
On the ground of attracting foreign tourists to its own soil, ‘the city that never sleeps’, is being anticipated to break the record once again by expecting 67 million guests in 2019. New york, being the financial capital of US, its tourism sector owes a larger part of its finance, providing employment to more than 390,000 people here.
