Have you ever heard of ‘astral travel’? Recently, in a bizarre case a minor girl has allegedly committed suicide attempting astral travelling in Mumbai.
The victim was 15 years old Shravanani. According to her family she was watching videos related to astral travelling over YouTube for past couple of days.Earlier also she attempted many times for the same act,however they succeeded in refraining Shravanani from attempting the same. A case has been registered by the Mumbai Police and investigation has been started. Some videos related to Astral Travel on the victims’s phone have also been found by the police.
Now of course the question arises – what it really means by ‘Astral Traveling’.Astral travelling, or astral projection, basically refers to an out-of-body experience, during which one’s soul separates from the physical body and traverses the astral plane with some purpose. People with prolonged illness or nearing death do sometimes have the experience of such state,while some people believed that it is possible to practice the act at your own will. However, there is no official record of such incidence till date.
Hardly six month back,a similar unfortunate incident in Burari in the national capital New Delhi, took life of 11 members in their house. Ten out of them were found hanging from an iron-mesh of the ceiling, while the body of the eldest person of the family, aging 77 years was lying on the floor in another room of the house. 11 diaries bearing the psychological thoughts of the family members and writings about attaining “road to God”, had been collected by the police from that very spot.
This is highly unacceptable that even in 21st century people do believe these and some ill-fated people even dare to attempt it.
