A whopping Rs 91.6 lakh is the pay offer made by an island located in the state of California, USA, to take care of a historic lighthouse-turned-inn,the media reported. Built in the19th century, the lighthouse is transformed into a hotel and located in the San Pablo Bay, part of the larger San Francisco Bay.It was constructed to enable mariners who explore the cloudy waters around San Francisco.
Got up graded in the 1960s, the lighthouse is still working. Coming under the properties of the US Coast Guard, right now it is maintained by a non-profit group East Brother Lighthouse Inc. Since 1979, it’s been a West Coast bed and breakfast staple. The Light Station is situated in the San Pablo Bay which is a part of the larger San Francisco Bay.
According to the local mayor of Richmond, California, “At first it was abandoned. We restored it and afterward we searched for some approach to create a continuous income to look after it. I’ve been dealing with it for almost 40 years.”
The job requirements include serving food, housekeeping and ferrying guests from the mainland to the island and the gross salary for it is supposed to be divided between two caretakers.
