As the latest addition in Gujarat’s list of tourist attractions the Statue of Unity located at Kevadia, Gujurat has been newly featured with the facility of a helicopter ride view for a better and closer view of the 182-metre monument. The Statue of Unity, built as a tribute to the legendary freedom fighter of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The new 10-minute helicopter ride was introduced on Sunday at the site. Right after the introduction of the feature, it has been experienced by six media persons and over 60 tourists.The 10 minute Chopper ride will cost you Rs 2900.
Recorded as the tallest in the world, the statue double the size of the Statue of Liberty USA. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31st October 2018. Because of its mammoth size and structure,
it has pulled a good number of tourists since. As per report, within the first 11 days of its opening, the monument dragged around 1.3 lakh tourists.
Considering the tourist flow to the site, the Gujarat government has proposed to the Chief Ministers of all states to think over setting up guest houses near the Statue of Unity.
The helicopter ride view includes the panoramic view of the Statue of Unity, Sardar Sarovar Dam, Narmada River and the Satpura and Vindhya hills.
Approximately, 15,000 tourists visit the statue every day, according to the state government. The statue took its shape at an expenditure of around Rs. 3,000 crore.
