MAKKAH – Minister of Haj and Umrah Muhammad Saleh Benten welcomed Ali Riza Rasheed, head of the Iranian Haj and Visit Organization, and the accompanying delegation at his office in Makkah on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the issues discussed were pertaining to Iranian pilgrims.
Benten said that the Kingdom started receiving Haj delegations from Islamic countries early this year.
He said the government of Saudi Arabia is very enthusiastic on providing the best promising services and facilities to Haj pilgrims so as to facilitate them to carry out their rituals in ease and comfort.
On his part, the Iranian official thanked the Kingdom’s efforts in serving the pilgrims and the Two Holy Mosques.Here Two Holy Mosques are referred to Al-Masjid al-Haram (in Mecca) and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (in Medina), the two holiest places in Islam.
Mecca, the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad is Islam’s holiest city situated in a desert valley in western Saudi Arabia. Only Muslims are allowed in the city, with millions arriving for the annual Hajj (pilgrimage).
