Worlds leading tour operator Contiki has designed an blockbuster 82-day round-the-world trip that takes in all the new seven wonders of the world – including the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China and Machu Picchu.

 

Contiki calims to be worlds most popular travel company was formed specifically to create coach trips for 18- to 35-year-olds that  includes a mix of sightseeing, free time, culture, socializing, and adventure.The tour company operates in Europe,Russia, Egypt, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, North America, South America, and Asia.

 

The brand new 7Wonder’s trip itinerary starts in Delhi on March 24, 2019, and finishes up in Rome on June 13  that covers seven countries across four continents. Prices start from £15,000 including all international flights and pre- and post-trip accommodation (or £11,534 without). The trip is made up of five of Contiki’s most popular itineraries, plus the brand new Israel & Jordan Uncovered trip.

 

During the three-month trip the sight seeing stops would be at: the Taj Mahal in India; the Great Wall of China; Chichen Itza in Mexico, Machu Picchu in Peru, Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro,Brazil; Petra in Jordan; and the Colosseum in Italy. Travellers will spend an average of 12 days to explore  explore these countries.

 

The new seven wonders of the world were selected from a list of 200 existing monuments in 2000 following a campaign Swiss philanthropist Bernard Weber. The winners announced in 2007 in Lisbon.

The new seven wonders includes

Taj Mahal, India

The Taj Mahal is one of India’s most recognisable attraction. The mausoleum, completed in 1653, was commissioned to house the tomb of the then-Emperor’s favourite wife Mumtaz.

Great Wall of China, China

The 5,500 mile long Great Wall runs from Gansu province in western China to Dandong near the China/North Korea border, although the sections outside Beijing typically receive the most visitors.

Chichen Itza, Mexico

Chichen Itza, on Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, is one of the most well-preserved ruins in Mayan history.

 

Machu Picchu, Peru

Hike the the ancient Incan citadel of Machu Picchu. Built in the 15th century, the monument is above Peru’s Sacred Valley, 2,530 metres above sea level.

Christ the Redeemer, Brazil

South America’s biggest icon is the 30m high art deco statue of Jesus Christ on a hilltop in Rio de Janeiro, unveiled in 1931.

Petra, Jordan

The ancient city of Petra, Jordan’s most visited tourist attraction, is a collection of rock-cut caves, temples and tombs from pink sandstone.

Colosseum, Rome

The largest amphitheatre ever built, the Colosseum is an icon of imperial Rome and once hosted gladiatorial contests. It’s estimated that it once held up to 80,000 spectators.

 

Addition to this, travellers will also get to visit a panda sanctuary in Chengdu, China, canopy hike through the Amazon jungle, have a tango lesson in Buenos Aires, Argentina, go 4x4ing across Wadi Rum in Jordan and enjoy a boat trip to the island of Capri in Italy.
