ASI receives the rank of the Knight of the medal of the SAHAMETREI

Proud moment for all Indians as the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI),GOI  received the medal and honour (the rank of the Knight of the medal of the SAHAMETREI)for their contribution made for conservation of Ta Prohm Temple,Cambodia.

 

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is an attached office in the Ministry of Culture. ASI’s function is to “explore, excavate, conserve, preserve and protect the monuments and sites of National & International Importance.

 

Dr.Mahesh Sharma, the Minister of State (Independent Charge),Ministry of Culture,GOI Congratulated the team of ASI for their outstanding work Overseas and making the country proud.

 

The Royal Order of Sahametrei  is an chivalric order conferred by the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia. It is conferred primarily on foreigners those who have rendered distinguished services to the King and to the people of Cambodia, particularly in the field of external relations and diplomatic services or, as a token of friendship.
