Shalby Hospital bags FICCI award for Medical Value Travel in Joint Replacements

Taking a step ahead in medical tourism, Shalby Hospitals has bagged the Medical Value Travel Specialist Hospital Award 2018 in the department of “Orthopaedics – Joint Replacement”. The Ahmedabad-based multi specialist hospital is awarded by FICCI during the Advantage Health Care India 2018, 4th international summit.

The conference is being jointly coordinated by the industry body FICCI and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, that was conducted on 4th – 6th December at Greater Noida, New Delhi.

Shalby Hospitals was established in Ahmedabad, India as a joint replacement centre in 1994 by Dr. Vikram Shah. It runs a chain of hospitals in Ahmedabad, Surat, Indore, Vapi, Jabalpur, Jaipur and Mohali.

Dr. Vikram Shah, Founder & CMD, Shalby Hospitals, expressing his gratitude on winning the award, said: “We are honoured for marking our excellence in joint replacements and attracting medical tourists from around the world. We started with a six-bed hospital and a single speciality – orthopaedics and  today, Shalby takes the credit of performing over 100,000 joint replacement surgeries, and placed itself as India’s Number One hospital in this department. Gradually we have evolved into a multi-specialty hospitals chain with 11 hospitals holding an aggregate  bed capacity of  over 2,000 hospital beds.”

Shalby has successfully dealt with thousands of patients from outside the country in its 25 years of service.  Patients from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, Zambia, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Rwanda, Malawi, Madagascar, Indonesia, Nepal and the Middle-East, and even from developed countries like the UK and US have relied upon it.

Under the efficient leadership of Dr. Vikram I. Shah, the hospital has already extended its service to the people of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Maharashtra. Furthermore the multi – speciality hospital has the ambition of availing its expert healthcare to a larger section of Indian population, particularly to the people of underdeveloped cities where there is no such advanced medical facilities are available.
