Good news for the travellers here in India. On booking Buddhist/Maharaja Luxury tour packages of IRCTC , the passengers can now avail 17 per cent discount on Air India tickets to travel to any part of the country, as said by a senior railway Official on Wednesday.
The ultra-luxury offering train covers the major significant tourist attractions in the country like Delhi, Agra, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Varanasi, Mysore, Goa and Mumbai.
The travel and tourism wing of Indian Railways and Air India, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), has signed a MoU to create and promote special tour packages for the flagship products of Indian Railways – the Maharajas’ Express and Buddhist Circuit Deluxe Special Train.
Air India Special fare is subject to the rules and guidelines as laid down by Air India.Such Special fare offer is valid till 31 March 2019. Air India Special fare can be booked only once against one Buddhist/Maharaja Transaction Id.
The Maharajas’ Express is an ultra-luxury tourist train owned and regulated by IRCTC which runs on 5 circuits covering more than 12 destinations across North-West and Central India, mainly centered on Rajasthan between October and April. Likewise Buddhist Circuit Deluxe Special Train, equipped with all world class facilities, traverses through all the destinations where Buddhism prospered in the early 19th Century. Its tour starts from New Delhi and then takes you to Gaya, Rajgir and Nalanda, Varanasi and Sarnath, Lumbini, Kushinagar, Sravasti and Agra.
But now onwards passengers booking Maharaja Express can now book tickets for Air India flights as well on the website of the Maharajas’ Express and can avail the 17 per cent discount offer. Such offers will be valid for the Buddhist Circuit train at a later date.
This is a unique initiative by both the travel giants which are taking a gander at utilizing their particular markets and vast client base. As per the officials, with these tickets tourists are free to travel between any cities of India.
