Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and Aceh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) to promote development and bilateral economic relations by providing a platform for businessmen from both the countries to meet and discuss opportunities in trade, investment in transfer technology, service and other industrial sectors, at Port Blair on Thursday.
The business relation between the two nations can open doors for economic participation that includes:
(1) the travel industry, particularly cruise tourism and eco-tourism.
(2) air transport availability, through regular commercial flights from Indonesia-Port Blair or by means of connecting flight in Singapore/Kuala Lumpur, or by charter flight.
(3) sea transportation in the form of RoRo vessel shipping to encourage exchange between the two regions.
A 30-member delegation comprising of authorities from Chamber of Commerce of Aceh, and officials from Andaman Chamber of Commerce and industries of Andaman and Nicobar Administration along with other eminent personalities were at Port Blair for the Occasion.
The proposal of the business relationship among Aceh and Andaman was initiated since July 2018, when the first Business Forum was held in Aceh and this edition of IIBF is a stage forward of such engagement towards a significant business bonding.
It may be reminded that during the official visit of PM Modi to Indonesia on a two day tour in end of May,PM Modi and the Indonesian President Joko Widodo had emphasized the significance of stronger connectivity between the two neighbouring countries, especially on Sea links. Both of them welcomed the ideas of intensifying business relationship between Andaman Nicobar and Aceh to unfold the financial possibilities of both the territories.
