India Travel Mart – one of the most significant tourism show has started in Amritsar last friday. The three-day show, was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla. The event intends to facilitate the trade of inbound, outbound and domestic tourism as whole.
Representatives from various the tourism sectors like Kerala, West Bengal, Goa, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and travel specialists, tour operators from Amritsar, Punjab and close-by cities are in the region to grace the occassion.
This tourism exhibition has provided the ground to showcase International and State Tourism Boards, National & International Destinations, Airlines, Railway, Cruise Line, Ocean Liners, Travel & Tour Planners and Organizers, Travel Agency, Hotels & Resorts, Adventure-Sports-Eco Tourism, Amusement or Theme Parks, Travel Related Services, Educational Institutes, Time Share Properties, Insurance, Banks, Credit Cards, Car rentals and Associations.
The delegates of the event will promote their own regions. Surjit Singh, Tourist Information Officer of Himachal Pradesh, encouraged his state tourism’s home-stay concept .He said”we are putting forth home stays in rural territories of Himachal Pradesh. Tourists can come, and enjoy their stay with local people and make the most of their time.”
Laxmikant Vaigankar, General Manager, Goa Tourism Development Corporation, stated, “Goa isn’t just about shorelines, it is more than that. We have beautiful forests, sanctuaries and other tourism attractions.”
Talking about the event,the brain behind ITM-Amritsar Ajay Gupta, chairman and managing director of the ICM group said ‘we organise ITM-Amritsar annually wherein the customers get specially designed packages,”
