In an attempt to promote the brand image of Visakhapatnam as a tourist hub, Andhra Pradesh Tourism has introduced water sports activities in the state now. From scuba diving to kayaking and much more, the waters of Visakhapatnam presently have got a new character shape as such. Though swimming is prohibited in some areas, getting accessed with various water sports, currently Rushikonda shoreline is home to a few water-based sports for the thrill seekers like scuba diving, surfing, kayaking, yachting, banana watercraft rides, zorbing and fly skiing. Moreover, hovercrafts, fly boards, and pontoons are additionally in the pipeline.
Exceptionally, Andhra Pradesh Tourism have added free coaching on scuba diving also. In the first phase, out of 480 applicants a batch of 10 members are taken to the Mangamaripeta Beach for the training. This free training sessions will continue till December 28.
The government is arranging this accomplishment as a major aspect of a tourism promotion and injecting a financial plan of around 20 lakh. For the free training sessions the tourism division will give its first preference to experts, class IX students, and tour operators to promote the travel industry.
