Being one of its kind in the whole world, the International Cherry Blossom Festival is going to commence in India from 14th Nov. to 17th November. Shillong – a hill station in the north-eastren part of India and the capital city of the state Meghalaya, is going to host this gala event this year. Shillong had the exerience of hosting the event twice before and the International Cherry Blossom Festival – 2018 is going to be its third chance.
Meghalaya (the adobe of cloud ) – the name itself indicates the surreal beauty of the state and its capital Shillong is no less in any way. Brimming with cherry blossom trees those are completely hidden with the pink-white floewrs all over, particularly in autumn, the very sight satiates the onlookers . The celebration of this unique festival is going to present a variety of events like, fashion shows, music concerts, beauty pageants and a golf tournament as well. Along with these in order to promote the state’s tourism sector, there will be the provision of the regional stalls demonstrating their own food and crafts. In addition, since the event has got a partnership with the Japanese embassy in India, one can also gain knowledge about the food , culture and higher education of Japan here in this festival. Further such association raises the hope of bolstering relationship between these two countries.
Conrad K.Sangma – the Chief Minister of Meghalaya has invited the general public to be a part of this magnificent occasion and enjoy all its glory.

The venues those are engaged to observe the festival are : Polo Fifth Ground, State Convention Centre, JN Stadium, Golf Course, Indoor Stadium Polo.

To access the place the nearest airport is the Umroi Airport of Shillong or else you can get through Guwahati Airport. You can also opt for the train route though Guwahati Railway Station.
