Thailand’s alluring offer for the Global community to woo travellers

Here is good news for Indian travelers who head out to Thailand for a trip will spend little bit less from their pocket asThailand government declared a waiver on the visa-on-landing charge.

As announced by ministry of Tourism,Thailand , 19 countries plus India can avail this schemet and the countries are Andora, Bulgaria, Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Maldives, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. Travellers will be spared 2000 baht, around Rs 4,400 or $60 on visa expenses, if they will trip between 1 December and 31 January.

Thailand has ascribed about 18% of its GDP exclusively to the travel industry, since the volume of the tourists flow to the country is quite high. But the recent boat mishap, in which 40 Chinese tourist have lost their life in phuket, the tourist flow endured a shot and resulted in 11.7 % decrease in travellers from China, as announced by the country’s Minister of Tourism and Sports. Now Thailand wants to compensate this fall with such enticing offers.

The Thai government is expecting the visa-on-landing expense waiver to knock up the travel industry by no less than 30 percent.

In another case, Maya Bay, a well known visitors goal in Thailand, was closed down in June for a couple of months and after that inconclusively, as it couldn’t handle the over-flow of the tourists to the spot. Here it is worth mentioning that it is the same shoreline where Leonardo DiCaprio-starrer The Beach in 2000 was shot. The spot was so over crowded that to maintain its environment became a challenge for the tourism department.

However the present picture of Thailand tourism appears as the nation that was once overburdened by sightseers, is currently endeavouring to charm them back.
