New York city join hands with Puerto Rico to boost tourism

New York City declared its first ever City-to-Island partnership with Puerto Rico on Tuesday this week. The signing contract was hosted by Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning artist American musical star Lin Manuel Miranda. NYC & Company and Discover Puerto Rico are the official designated marketing outfit representing both sides signed the pact.The one-year alliance is aimed at boosting tourism between the two destinations the year ahead and also to help Puerto Rico recover from Hurricane Maria.The two destinations agreed to share marketing assets and help reciprocal development, foremost focus would be increasing visitation in the year ahead.

In a event held at EL Museo del Barrio in Manhattan Miranda said “[Puerto Rico needs] your money, your visit, your support, Nothing is better for your soul than visiting Puerto Rico.”Refering to the terrorists attacks of September 11,2001, Brad Dean CEO of Discover Puerto Rico said that due to the similar tragic and unimaginable events faced by the two places,their partnership is very much sensible.
He further stated “We are showing the bond of strength,” New York understands what it is like to go through something unimaginable. Both destinations have gone through unimaginable circumstances and came out bright and ready to shine.”

Though currently the association is just for a year,but the relationship between New York And Puerto Rico is expected to last longer.
San Juan will start billboard advertisement campaign of New York City from Nov19 this year for three months reciprocally NYC will start placing Puerto Rico advertisements on bus stops and LinkNYC screens from Nov19 to Jan13 next.
