‘Statue of Unity’, touted to be the world’s tallest statue is all set to take its shape when PM Modi will inaugurate it and dedicate it to the nation on 31st October 2018 on birth anniversary of the first Deputy Prime Minister of India and well distinguished ‘Iron Man of India’ Sardar Patel.
Said to be the pet project of PM Modi this Memorial is located at Sadhu Bet Island near Sardar Sarovar Dam on Narmada river around 200 kilometers away from Ahmedabad built at a cost of Rs.23.89 billion.Sources said ‘This Sculpture will give boost to Gujarats eco- tourism at large attracting a estimated 15000 footfalls per day to witness the viewing gallery that stands at 153 metres height at chest of the sculpture offering expansive views of magnificent Narmada Dam,the Satpura and Vindhya mountain ranges.It can accommodate upto 200 visitors at a time.Two high speed lifts are there to take visitors to the Viewers gallery.Disables and Senior citizens also have the privilege of moving walkway to visit the statue.Selfie points are also spotted near the statue.A museum and a sound and light show also in place at the base of the statue to portray the life of Sardar Patel.To figure the area as a ‘Valley of Flowers’ glimpse, flowers are being planted around the hills adjacent to the sculpture.This modern tourist attraction will have boating,seaplane transportation facilities and construction on full-swing to erect a three star hotel having 52 rooms and two ‘tent cities’ with 250 tents to accommodate tourists.The existing ropeway now being used for construction purposes will be strengthened to benefit the tourist to experience a panoramic view.
Spring Temple Buddha of China, world’s tallest statue designated will now 29 metres lesser in height than 182 metre high ‘Statue of Unity’ once it publicly inaugurated shortly.Interestingly the world famous 93 metre high ‘Statue of Liberty’ in New York,which woos large number of tourists is almost half of the size of ‘Statue of Unity’.
