On its 24th Annual General Meeting held recently at Grand hotel,New Delhi,The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) has elected its new Managing Committee for 2018-20 term. Praveen Chugh from Business Travels has been picked as the President unopposed. Pradip Lulla from Cupid Travels and Tours is the new Vice President, Aditi Bhende from Aarohan Tours and Travel is the new National General Secretary, while Jayesh Tharani, Hopco Travels, has been chosen as the new treasurer.
The five Committee members incorporate are A Basheer Ahmed, Chennai Metro Travels; Rajat Bagaria, Shrishti Tours and Travels; Urvashi D Mohan, Delfly Travels; Bharat Shah, Sunbeams Travels, Baroda and TeddyM Thomas, Oasis Xpress Travel.
Cough’s new agenda would be to prioritize the uncompleted assignments such as on GST and transaction fees etc.TAFI’s demand would be relaxation on GST on international travel that enable agents to get input tax credit.
Also foreseeing TAFI’s newly launched digital platform ‘TAFI Connect’ the instrumental reducing the operational cost of member travel agencies.
