Due to its cheap production, versatile use, plastics have been a convenient choice for the modern civilization. Though its usefulness cannot be denied, its greater harmfulness cannot be ignored as well. Being non-biodegradable in nature waste management of plastic is an absolute threat to the environment. It can neither be dumped as it will not decompose nor can it be burned due to the harmful gas it produces which in turn pollutes the environment.
The only good way to use it reusing and recycling which makes single use plastic a big NO for the environment. Apart from the pollution it causes, the problem of disposal, plastic is also harmful to animals as several animals die every year due to the accidental intake of polythene and plastic products.Keeping in mind these harmful consequences several cities, countries and organizations have put a ban on single use plastics. But as we know making laws and implementing them are two different things especially in India. So, the complete elimination of plastic is still a task to achieve.
