Kerala is all set to revive its tourism industry after the loss from the devastating flood. It has been planning several reforms and plans to give a boost to its tourism sector especially in hill stations and other major destinations.The department has submitted a proposal to the Union tourism ministry for the establishment of a ‘Kerala coastal circuit’ under the Swadesh Darshan, a central sector scheme aimed at development of theme based tourist circuits in the country.
If implemented the scheme is expected to connect popular beaches with the not so popular ones. The estimated costs have been submitted to be Rs 157 crores from which Rs 70 crores have been approved by the state capital alone.
