For the second time in a row Goa has been awarded a National Tourism Award in the category of Comprehensive Development of Tourism. Providing an exotic and serene environment Goa has been a constant favorite especially among the youths of the country as well as the foreign tourists.
The awards have been in existence since 1990 and presented to the states,Union territories, and other tourism bodies to appreciate their performance on the travel and tourism sector.The award was presented by Alphones Kannathanam, union minister for tourism and received by Manohar Azgaonkar, tourism minister of Goa along with Nikhil Desai, the managing director of Goa Tourism Development Corporation.
