BHUBANESWAR: As stated by an official, Odisha government was analyzing the possibility of propelling a luxury train service on hold of the “Palace on Wheels’’. Regarding this, the Odisha chief secretary A P Padhi has discussed with the additional member of Railways (Tourism and Catering), Sanjiv Garg , the authority said. As reported by Mr. padhi a few states in the country have just begun working such luxury trains and the railways held converses with the state government to present luxury trains on lines with the “Palace on Wheels”.
Expressing that the proposed train will take into account foreign and high end tourists, Padhi said the venture is probably going to be a joint cooperation between the Indian Railways and the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC). Currently these luxury trains are accessible in various traveler circuits in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Assam. The tourism division will set up a plausibility report for the proposed project. This is going to cover all perspectives including infrastructure facilities, economy, organization, business and administration, an authority in tourism office said.
